The task behind it.
Knowledge is spread across internal documents. Two connected workflows prepare the sources and match questions to relevant, approved content.
“How are proposal drafts approved?” · example source: sales handbook, version 2
An answer with specific source identifiers. Missing access, stale sources and unknown citations follow defined exception paths.
Inside the actual workflow.
The recording shows the existing n8n implementation. The steps below explain what each section does.
- 01
Version documents and split them into source chunks
- 02
Store vectors with traceable source records
- 03
Select relevant content by role and version
- 04
Validate the answer and its source identifiers
Exceptions are part of the work.
- Questions without sufficient source material
- Stale document versions and missing access
- Citations outside the supplied context
Tested, with clear limits.
The shared test suite covers 23 cases. Validation, calculations, version comparisons and local database steps ran in n8n. Model responses and external results came from supplied fixtures.
Tests use supplied retrieval results and marked fixture vectors. Embeddings, semantic answer quality and real access policies require verification after connection.
